Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Some of her early Broadway productions include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actress in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with many famous directors and actors in stage films and television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford will be next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani, as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford's upcoming project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. In March of 2023 Ashford returns to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the show. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the nation's first impeachment proceedings in Over 100 Years. Ashford was the main character in two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway performances. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and is now dividing her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
