Prior to making the move to Hawaii she started surfing when she was five years old. When she was six, she was crowned the winner of an amateur surf contest by using a worn-out board which she found in the trash outside her house. At age of sixteen Ashley participated in the NSSA National championship. In 2003, she received the Triple Crown Award for Rookie of the Year. Ashley has also received various awards, including two National Scholastic Surfing Association and Professional Surfing Tour of America Championships. Ashley was the winner of her 2010 Pipeline Women's Pro, Hawaii. Ashley's 2013 Women's Qualification Series ranking is the 59th. Anastasia Ashley posed 2014 for Sport Illustrated Magazine, as well as Maxim Magazine. She launched her own Gypsy Jet Set jewelry line together with OK1984, a jewelry company.
